I have a wall of ivy separating my house from the property next door. The wall is at least 20 feet tall. The ‘Ivy Berry’ season has started. Each day I go outside and sweep up the ivy berries so they don’t get on the soles of my shoes and I inadvertently take them inside. They are a royal mess. After about 3-4 weeks the ivy wall will have dropped most of them. This photo is a bit tame…but if I don’t do my daily chore, the berries will be tracked into the house.
Things/items that you don’t think of will happen when you purchase a property. Good news? I can’t see the property next door, but I hear them, and the neighbors seem very nice.
Get your paper/shred-able stuff together…and tell your friends/neighbors that my Annual Shredding Party will be on April 23, 9AM – to noon! It’s free to all, and if the person wishes to make a donation to Alameda (city) Meals on Wheels, I will match that donation.
Get those boxes out of your closets/filing cabinets and/or garages, including those ancient (over 7 years old tax returns) and get them shredded. Yes, I will take those bags/boxes before the party, if you can’t come to the party. We just need to make arrangements.
It’s free to all, and if the person wishes to make a donation to Alameda (city) Meals on Wheels, I will match that donation. Last year AMOW received $8014. from us!

That’s a wrap! Be safe while you’re out having fun!
I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull.
Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! www.MarilynSchumacher.com to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
