Inventory….these days. It seems to get tighter and tighter, yet at the same time because the demand is so high…the properties are not nearly as tricked out when folks were selling 2-4 years ago. But it’s still fetching higher and higher prices.
Everybody likes talking about real estate…when’s the price bubble going to burst? Not until something disastrous occurs, like a man-made event (financial fiasco), or a nature-made event (earthquake, fire, floods).
How about building more housing? But the prices keep getting higher for new 3 story houses, townhouses, and condos, with minimal backyards (If any), and, sitting right next to the street. The developers want tax credits for building housing that is less than market rate.
Then there’s the traffic. How are we to get off and onto this place we call home? And what if a disaster hits?
I’m not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but I’m not the dimmest, either. I’m just echoing what I hear folks telling me.
Alameda feels like a small town and that’s why we like it here. We tend to smile at folks we don’t know. We need to come up with some new, fresh ideas.
Hey, I just sounded like a Cheer’s TV advertisement. Here’s to you, Norm!

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull.
Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! www.MarilynSchumacher.com to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
