THE SECOND STORY | April 27th, 2017

Upsizing. Downsizing. Ah, just right.

Goldilocks Mindset

Things just change. Everything changes. For the good or for the not-so-good. Homes are fine but what lives in a home can vary…from a single person, to a couple, to single person again with a kid (or more), to multi-generational.

In Alameda, homes range from studio apartments, to really big homes (a few of them on large lots, but mostly not).

Flexibility becomes a key word…in home searching. Hopefully you can find a home that could last a lifetime: with or without kids, with or without grandkids, maybe a chance of parents moving in with their kids.

Try to project out…way out…beyond tomorrow, beyond 10 years, beyond 30 years. Flexibility is the mantra.

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull. Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! www.MarilynSchumacher.com to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
