Central Ave is in the news these days, with the issue of modifying the street to accommodate bikes. But once you start driving west from Grand Street, and look to your right, you will see a huge house with a huge lot at 1617 Central Ave, Nobody is doing anything to protect it! I’m not sure who or what the game plan is…but at this time there doesn’t seem to be a plan. The previous owner (2 times ago) was in a battle with the city about the condition.

My question is…What would you do with it or to it, if money was plenty?

Alameda Real Estate this Week

Broker Tour Tues 12 this week. I saw 10 of them…94502 by car (had an Alameda Association of Realtors Inforum meeting at Jim’s on the Course) and 3 east end properties by car but after than I traded in my car for the bike and rode up the Bayport and saw properties along the way! Nice ride to get in before the rains! What was interesting to me was that so many properties came on the market that were very original and at very high prices. Lots of work to be done to get them up to snuff!

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull. Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! www.MarilynSchumacher.com to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
