Development…in Alameda!

1978.05.28 MDP Future site of Baywood Village, Harbor Bay Isle, Alameda
This is how Bay Farm Island looked in the 1960’s when the Community of Harbor Bay was beginning to be developed. (Thanks, Ken Carvalho, Alameda native.) Carl and I showed up in 1973. A huge sigh of GONE!

The Affordability Squeeze

This kind of explains what is going on in this market. Nobody can move because there’s nothing to buy and/or it’s not exactly what ‘move-on’ sellers want as buyers. (Note that I said ‘move-on’, not ‘move up.’)

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull. Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
