Little houses…

Sometimes you think you’ve got a unique listing, and then two more show up! I’m talking about 1 bedroom, detached houses. One of those is 1 block from where my little listing is currently ( That should be closing next week.

Now 876 Oak has come on the market. It was cute then and it’s even cuter now! Plus it has parking!

Another small house came on the market this week (903 San Antonio). Great location and also very cute.

There are 3 of those little houses in a row, on San Antonio, and I sold the middle one a number of years ago. The people who bought it thought it was a mansion! They moved into the little house, and had previously lived on a boat! I think they’ve liked it there, because I haven’t seen it for sale since they bought it.

And my best story of little houses is actually The Little House Cafe. My client bought the huge commercial lot that used to hold some type of construction/plumbing? biz. He tore that down and built a new home for Perforce Software (which he owns).

Because it was against the law to tear the little house down (which was part of the sale) he had the house moved from the spot it was resting on, over to the corner of Blanding and Oak. And it became his personal cafe which he shares with the rest of Alameda. Thank you to Chris and Trudi Seiwald! One new biz building and one little old house completely renovated and re-born!

Come on by to the open house on Sunday and say HI! From Webster take Pacific Ave west, and turn right onto Second St, then an immediately left into the parking lot. Follow the signs!

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull. Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
