Alameda to the SF Giants game…look ma, there’s a hole in the bridge!

Three of us went to the Giant’s game on Tuesday evening. Alameda is the perfect place to have a ferry to SF, specifically to ATT Park.  Classic freezing weather…but we were prepared with Giants blankets, Giants gloves, hats, and great hot food from the vendors.

This view is from the ferry and they are dismantling the old bridge…taking their instructions from the drawings they had from the1930’s and using old photos of it being built.

And yes, the ferry leaves at 11:30 OR 20 minutes after the last out.  11:30pm came and most everybody’s devices were tuned into the game as we pulled away from the dock.  And the Giant’s won…it was after midnight when it happened!  YAY!

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull. Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
