THE SECOND STORY | February 20th, 2014

Bridges of Alameda Island

Alamedans know which bridge this is…and the associated structure with it. A railroad train used to cross the estuary and when it wasn’t in use, it was raised.  How many bridges does all of Alameda have?  Anybody out there know?  Does anybody out there care?  Probably not!

BOOMER CHICK MUSINGS – My observations about stuff out there.

Get ready and get your shredables in bags or boxes!  The Shreding Party is coming on March 8, nine to noon, rain or shine at my house!

Many of you have received postcard announcements
this week…and those are shred-able too!

Get your stuff  shredded for free!  It’s my gift to friends and clients!  You don’t even need to get out of the car, although I’d like it if you do….

No material needs to be shredded?  Then just come on by, sit for a while, have some doughnuts (fresh baked that morning) and juice!  Um, no, I don’t do doughnuts..but the best place in town does..Lee’s just off Webster on Central.  And yes, those are free to you too!

My client at has an accepted offer on the property.  This has the 60′ dock with an unobstructed bay view.  Last week it had a rather amazing price cut, from 949K to 849K.  And three offers were generated by that.  Closes on April 3.

I just put another listing on the market…this was on the market in 2010 and the sellers decided to rent it and it’s been that way since.  Now the tenant is gone and it’s quite clean…but needs some updating.  At the 429K price, it is short, but the seller will bring $$ in to escrow for the right offer.  Has a new stove/oven/microwave and new water heater, it’s on the 3rd of 4 floors, and comes with a deeded single car garage, an in-unit full sized laundry, and a storage space.  Like I said in the mls…name a condo with bay views that has all the amenities of 933 & 1001 Shoreline.  Answer to the question?  Nada, nothing, no, none, zip.  Check out

In both the listings above….people are paying for the view of SF Bay.  That view just happens to come with a townhome or condo.

Broker tour Tues  I hosted a Bay View Condo this week at 933 Shoreline #306 so only saw one out @ Harbor Bay.

That’s a wrap!  Carry on!  Carry some stuff to the shredding party!  best, marilyn

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull. Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
