This was a February evening cloud set (didn’t see the sunset at this time…just clouds) over at South Shore along the beach on a bike ride.
But this weekend, I’m told, is Daylight Savings Time so set your clocks forward – spring ahead! Do any of you have clocks? The way people take their cell phones to bed I’m not sure they do!
I love when the sun stays up later…
Boomer chick musings – my take on what the heck is happening out there besides real estate!
Commentary: I read a lot of blog posts and columns online about real estate every week. Nobody seems to be talking about what will happen when interests rates go up (and they are rising slightly each month). Everybody is talking about why inventory is so low. One writer said prices will go up 3.3% each year of the next 3. How did he get that?
There are more buyers than sellers. It’s that simple.
But when the rates creep up…even .5 of a %, that will knock all kinds of buyers out of the market. Then Sellers will want to sell but they won’t get the price they have read about, heard about, or dreamed about.
Prices will have to fall to bring buyers into a market when those rates go up. But buyers won’t be so plentiful until the price hits their mark. So you may want to wait until….well, I don’t know. I’d say now is a good time to sell…while prices are nearly at their high. But if you don’t have to….it’s better to stay just where you are…with those nice low rates.
It’s impossible to time a market. We’ll only know after it happens. Hindsight is always 20/20. ———– ALAMEDA REAL ESTATE THIS WEEK

I arrived in Alameda in 1973, as a new bride...with husband Carl Schumacher, both of us from Newport Beach. He was embarking on his career as a Naval Architect (i.e. yacht designer) under Gary Mull.
Please see the 'ABOUT ME' page in this website! www.MarilynSchumacher.com to see how it has all turned out! I'm so blessed!
